rewrite edit text on a typewriter

This blog is a review of new, old, and classic books. It will mainly focus on YA and crossover fiction. Why? “So many books, so little time” I had to narrow the field somehow and it’s an area that I love to read and write. This site intends to review books weekly with an added weekly musing, commenting on some aspect related to the publishing world.

Who am I? I’m no different from the millions of you out there who are passionate about the written word, where it can take you and how it can change your life. I’m a little bit crazy – aren’t we all? I stash my books, everywhere, just like a lolly/candy addict, my handbag, car, lounge room, bedroom – I once found one in the pantry, I’m still not sure how that got there!

  1. I love    reading – obsessively (duh!), dancing  – crazily and singing – badly
  2. Favourite colour is white. None of this “white isn’t a colour stuff” it’s actually all the colours reflected.
  3. Favourite song is “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns and Roses. Anyone who knows me thinks this hilarious, but I love that song.
  4. Favourite book, I don’t play favourites, it’s impossible to choose, if all my books were drowning I’d try and save them all. (yes, this is a play on the psychological question if one of your children were drowning who would you save, and this brings me to number 5)
  5. Psychologists and I do not get along.
  6. I find people (see above answer) with God complexes annoying.
  7. I’m doing this because I want to connect with people who love words as much as I do. ENJOY!

  1. Thanks for the follow on my blog, and I really want to see what you suggest next, Bookgirl. We have much in common. I am also a collector of classics, but love the new and unique. I do reviews, as well. I feel it’s important to support other authors. I hope you’ll check out my fiction.

  2. Thank you for the follow Bookgirl! You now have a follower, as I believe you and I have similar taste in fiction. I am a huge fan of young adult novels and have recently discovered a love of retold classic fairytales. Best of luck with your future reading!

  3. Thanks for noticing my award. I noticed you are into classical literature (my collection is massive!) and YA. My current novella series is YA, and I’ll be releasing a second tween to adult Astral Investigator series this summer. How cool to show our young readers history (and the future, too!) going back and forth in time to save lost souls. Thought you’d like to hear about this.

  4. Bookgirl, Hope you have time to read and.review the Denny Ryder Paranormal Crime Series. Was pleased to see you noticed the free promo through today on Amazon. Definitely YA age and language appropriate, which I know is your preference. I’m working on the first installment of a new YA novella series: Delilah, Astral Investigator, Infinity Series. Let me know if you’d like me to review anything to help you out in your very worthwhile endeavor…”so little time” is so right!

  5. Sounds like you’ve got your work cut out for you, but at least it’s great work. Reading Rocks! So, I just naturally feel anybody who has an entire Blog about reading books deserves a follow, so that’s done, and I’ll be checking back in. Read you later.

  6. Hi, I want to answer the question, Do I feel guilty being in the YA book section? Well, I felt old fashion. But it’s better to just get on with why I came to the store. Your statistics prove that adults are writing the stories more than the YA category. Take care.

  7. Hi, thanks for enjoying my ”Words with No Pictures” blog. And it was nice to read a short story from you. So, how will things end with Jack and his neighbor? It was pretty nice. Are you going to add more?

    • Thanks, the first draft is finished and it’s not what you may expect. it’s not a love story, but a piece dealing with manic depression. i may put more out there unsure yet.
